THE COLLECTOR TOY & COMIC SHOW 2006 Show Report

This weekends toy and comic show was a great success. Considering it was only his second show, Mikey and his crew did an amazing job getting everything together. Even in the midst of a critical air conditioning failure at the show hall, they managed to keep their cool while servicing nearly two dozen vendors and hundreds of attendees.

Thanks to all the attendees who stopped by my table. It was great to see new faces and a terrific surprise to catch up with people that I hadn't seen in years.

It was good to see that one of the newer illustrations, Stone vs Ring (which is one of my favorites), met with unanimous approval by my fans and sparked a few heated debates on who would actually win in a fight between Harry Potter and Frodo Baggins. Most everyone seemed to conclude that Harry would win, at least if it were the more experienced Harry from the 3rd or 4th movie.

Not surprisingly, the most popular print is still Drunken Pirate, followed closely by Claws, Flame On!, Wolf, Seeing Red, Suspicious Professor and Nightwing.

This event also marked the first showing of my Johan life-size standee. Quite a few passer-bys swooned at the sight of him, so we'll consider that a successful debut, and I'll be sure to bring him to future shows... maybe even make him available for photos with fans.
